"La Der des Ders" is how French have called the first world war (la dernière des dernières guerres).
This means "The last of the last wars" thinking that it would be the only one...

It's a photomanipulation of the photo that I took of the Yorkshire trench at Boesinghe in Belgium. I was inspired after watching the movie "Jin-roh" and this amazing AMV (Anime Music Video): Raitei - Why?
I hope this AMV will affect you as much as it affected me.

'Yorkshire Trench' was the name given to a front line position dug by units of the 49th (West Riding) Division in 1915/16. (see [link]).

"War has changed" :)
This picture really reminds me of that line from Metal Gear Solid 4.
Good Job! ^^

and for some strange reason peopel tend to forget all about the first world war
which is wrong
an entire generation millions of people gave their lives for us
they died in a senseless war that ate them up and spat them out so that we can be alive right now ( with the 1918 and 1919 spanish flu pandemic running rough shot as well )
millions of people died in ww 1 the least we can do is remember them and honor their sacrifice

Yes I agree with you.
It was very impressive to be on this place.
My thinkings were:
"How many men died just right here ? All around me. Starving, suffering, maybe dying,...".
It's very difficult to think about something like this but it is an obligation.

somebody doesnt even have to actually go to belgium and france and visit the sites ( but it helps )
all we need to do is remember them and think about what they sacrificed for us
just remember them is enough
they deserve that much
